Australia Hosting Israeli War Criminal Evading 2005 Arrest, Media Remains Silent
Human rights organizations request cancellation of Australian visa to alleged Israeli war criminal, Doron Almog, or referral for criminal investigation.
We're six months deep into an open genocide in Gaza, with Israel running the show without any consequences. Australia, along with its Western buddies, has been playing a part in this genocide by giving Israel diplomatic backup and providing weapons used in the Gaza Holocaust.
But Australia's involvement doesn't end there. The Albanese government has been giving a safe space to an Israeli war criminal, Doron Almog. This hasn't been reported much, so here's a rundown of the appeals made:
The Australia Centre for International Justice (ACIJ), along with other human rights organizations, has requested the Australian government to cancel or revoke the visa of Doron Almog, an alleged Israeli war criminal.
Doron Almog is a former Israeli military general who is accused of committing war crimes during the 2002 bombing of 59 civilian homes in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of 14 civilians, including children.
The human rights organizations have also requested that if Almog enters Australia, he should be referred to the Australian Federal Police for criminal investigation.
The request is based on Australia's legal obligations under international law to investigate and prosecute individuals accused of war crimes.
The ACIJ has also called on the Australian government to enact legislation that would allow for the prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide committed anywhere in the world.
The organizations believe that allowing Almog to enter Australia would undermine the country's commitment to human rights and international law.
The ACIJ and other organizations are urging the Australian government to take a strong stance against impunity for international crimes.
The article also mentions that this is not the first time Almog has faced scrutiny for his actions. In 2005, he evaded arrest in the UK for war crimes due to a tip-off that led to fleeing the country from Heathrow Airport.
The human rights organizations are also calling on the Australian public to support their request and stand against impunity for international crimes.
You can read the entire report from ACIJ. Despite these appeals made by ACIJ, Doron Almog is currently touring Australia as a free man, against Australian law.
While Australia and other Western nations have been cancelling Palestinian and anti-Zionist Jewish scholars’ appearances and classes in universities, Doron Almog has been given a free pass to tour Australia giving paid speeches for the Israeli lobbies. He is currently leading The Jewish Agency For Israel and is on his Australian tour to whitewash the genocide being committed in Gaza.
Almog served as a General in the infamous unit 8200. This unit is highly secretive, mainly because they are involved in several questionable acts, such as torture, rapes, intimidation of families and extremely invasive surveillance of Palestinians. Alan Macleod of Mintpress News did an investigative piece on Unit 8200 and their activities before and after October 7th.
Doron Almog is no ordinary war criminal. When he evaded arrest in 2005, the British terror squad were afraid of starting a gun battle with him at the Heathrow airport. The officers in charge reported. “Almog was determined and connected enough to get away with a gun at the airport. We could not risk more lives, it was chaos”.
Although a war criminal, in Israel and to Israelis Almog is known as the “Champion of Israelis”.
Share your thoughts, do you think a Palestinian could get away like this multiple times after having arrest warrants for war crimes?
Of course they are. And no I doubt if this was a Palestinian he or she would be allowed to leave an Israeli prison.
